What Almost Was

The largest of the paintings thus far of my Gestation Series (measuring 40” x 32) is a new painting where a pulsing red and purple form emerges from a violet back ground. Taking on the difficult subject of miscarriage this painting quietly, yet directly talks about the experience and emotions that are intertwined with loss. A topic which is still taboo in our culture today, this painting wishes to uncover the shame which is often associated with miscarriage. Instead, I am honoring the life that Almost Was.

  1. The life that almost was. Nice read. I’m trying to look closely to the picture and seeking the life who almost was. I guess this made me realize to be thankful for the life that is, and is still breathing. thanks for this.
